CAT6A U/FTP slimline data center Ethernet cables have a smaller diameter than regular CAT6A patch cables (3.8 mm versus 5.9 mm). The bending radius is also smaller compared to regular patch cables. This all ensures better airflow in the network cabinet/server rack.
Although ISO/IEC and TIA standards prescribe the use of patch cords between 22 and 28 AWG, it is possible to use 32 AWG patch cables. This provides higher attenuation, especially at higher frequencies.
